Frank Doretti

Head Coach 1961-1962

After Bill Miller left Servite as varsity head coach, George Dena and Frank Doretti took over as co-head coaches for the varsity football team. Compiling a record of 10-7-1, Coach Doretti left after the 1962 season, but Coach Dena stayed on until 1971, making him the second longest tenured varsity coach at Servite (10 years), with only Larry Toner coaching longer at 16 years. Coach Dena was succeed by Chuck Gallo.

Coach Dena's overall record while at Servite was 67-34-3, a 64% win record. Coach Dena was the first coach at Servite to coach in the newly formed Angelus league, which looked a little different from the blue blood years of the mid 70s through to the early 80s. The founding members were Mater Dei (from the Catholic League), Servite (no previous league affiliation), St. Paul, Cantwell and Salesian.  Coach Dena's teams earning two league championship (64 and 67), placed 2nd three times (63, 65 and 66) and placed 3rd four times (61, 62, 68 and 69).

Coach Dena passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the age of 75.
